I was born in Genova, Italy. My mother was a native Genoese and my father Italian immigrant (!). Having a transnational family drove my curiosity to learn about “others” with attention and respect. I studied foreign languages at high school and have a Master’s Degree in Modern History with a thesis in Religious Anthropology at University of Genoa. I travelled a lot and had various field experiences abroad (U.S.A, Argentina, Canada and China). Since 2006 I have focused my expertice in medical anthropology, ethnomedicine and ethnopsychiatry with a “Second level Master” and Ph.D.. Since then I have been working in the field of mental health, psychotherapy, school counseling and ethnoclinical mediation for individuals, groups and Institutions. This allowed me to face my own personal questions regarding my multi-rooted experience and I developed a profound and deep understanding of all those who strive to overcome their frustration of being misunderstood.
Witnessing the benefits of cultural mediations processes I chose to create my own practice so, in 2016, I completed my education by becoming a Professional Counselor in Italy.
My training is based on a mix of ethnographical research method, humanistic approach and client centered consultancies. I work on brief, solution focused interventions with a specific goal in mind to reach (usually maximum 10 consultancies).
Today I define myself as a Transcultural Advisor with strong helping relationship skills .
